Migrating to a New Infrastructure

Hi everyone! 👋

We’ve recently made some changes to the platform: advanced on-chain indicators for 64 tokens (including LINK, CHZ, LDO, etc.) have moved to a new page called "." Meanwhile, the main chart section now features updated indicators for these tokens.

These updates are part of a larger effort to improve CherryPick, and in this article, we’ll explain what’s behind these changes and how they unlock new possibilities for our users.

The First Infrastructure

When CherryPick first launched, we built an initial infrastructure that became the foundation for delivering analytics for the first altcoins we supported. It enabled us to:

  • Calculate a wide range of metrics,

  • Segment wallets (e.g., distinguishing exchanges from other addresses),

  • Actively experiment with indicators and test approaches to find the best-performing metrics.

This infrastructure powered sections like Leaderboards, Wallet Filtering, and Explorer, while supporting analytics for tokens such as LINK, CHZ, SHIB, 1INCH, and many others.

However, it had a significant limitation: scalability. It could handle data for only 64 tokens, which restricted our potential to grow.

The New Infrastructure

This year, we took a massive leap forward by introducing a new, robust infrastructure for processing blockchain data and delivering analytics.

As of 2024, the number of supported assets has grown from 64 to 550 tokens! 🎉

At the start, we focused on expanding the number of tokens and offered you a limited set of metrics (five key indicators) for these new assets. Over the past few months, we’ve completed major upgrades to this new infrastructure. Here’s what it means for you:

  • More accurate data: The new indicators use more precise asset price data, now with a larger historical dataset, resulting in higher-quality and more informative metrics.

  • Improved wallet cohort segmentation: We’ve enhanced the way we segment wallets and are preparing to roll out metrics for groups such as Long-Term Holders (LTH), Short-Term Holders (STH), Top 1% of Holders, and more. This is already supported by our infrastructure, and you’ll soon see it live!

  • Support for hundreds of assets: Adding new tokens is now mush faster!

  • More indicators for new assets: The range of metrics will significantly expand, soon surpassing 50 for each token.

  • Actionable data: We’re focused on ensuring every metric is easy to understand and immediately useful.

What’s Next?

New indicators will be added each week. Some of the upcoming metrics include:

  • Metrics for Long-Term Holders (LTH) and Short-Term Holders (STH)

  • SOPR by Wallets Cohorts

  • MPL by Wallets Cohorts

  • Realised Price for top 1% of Addresses

  • HODL Waves and more!

"Old Charts" Section

At the same time, we’ve kept the old indicators available for you. They’ve been moved to the “Old Charts” section. Old indicators will be available as long as users are actively using them. We’re not removing the old charts or metrics because we understand that for some users, they remain an important tool.

Thank you for sticking with us! 🚀

For the 64 original tokens that started it all, we’ve also made the powered by the new infrastructure available, and we’ll continue expanding them.
